The Sport Wales National Centre in Cardiff has installed new ECHO locks to create a secure bag drop area in its basketball hall. Managed by Sport Wales, the centre offers a wide range of athletic and recreational services to the public.
Facing the challenge of providing secure storage without the constraints of mains power or extensive IT infrastructure, Facilities Manager Mero Estesphan selected the ECHO lock system. Advantages of the ECHO lock included the locks’ battery-free operation and standalone design. The NFC technology, allowing users to access lockers via their smartphones, was also a significant benefit, as was the inclusion of an override key for emergency access.
